The Bent Pyramid is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located at the royal necropolis of Dahshur, approximately 40 kilometres south of Cairo, built under the Old Kingdom King Sneferu. It is a unique example of early pyramid development in Egypt and was the second of four pyramids built by Sneferu. The pyramid has a bent appearance due to a change in angle from 54 degrees to 43 degrees, which was likely made to avert the structure's collapse. The Bent Pyramid has two internal structures with entrances in the North and West sides, and a smaller satellite pyramid to the South. The internal structure of the Bent Pyramid is innovative, with two burial chambers, one above the other, and a corbelled roof. The pyramid is also notable for its original polished limestone outer casing, which remains largely intact
