Abusir is an ancient Egyptian archaeological site located near Cairo, comprising the ruins of four kings' pyramids from the Old Kingdom period. The site is part of the Pyramid Fields of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Memphis and its Necropolis. Abusir was used as a main cemetery for the elite residents of Memphis, the capital of the Old Kingdom, and features several pyramids, temples, and tombs, including the pyramids of Sahure, Neferirkare, and Nyuserra. The site is also known for the discovery of the Abusir Papyri, which provide important information on the economic function of an Old Kingdom funerary endowment. The Czech Institute of Egyptology has been conducting excavations at Abusir since 1960, uncovering several significant findings, including the intact sarcophagus of Iufaa, a priest and palace administrator
