What to expect

Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is a city with a well-preserved old town and a rich cultural heritage. It is situated on the lower slopes of the volcano Pichincha, at an elevation of 9,350 feet. The city has a distinct colonial atmosphere, with many churches, cloisters, and old mansions that are veritable museums. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with many examples of the Baroque school of Quito, which brings together indigenous and European artistic traditions. Quito is also home to many museums, including the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, the Anthropology Museum, and the cultural museum of the Central Bank. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, with many festivals and celebrations throughout the year, including the weeklong celebration of Founder's Day on December 6

Activities: We visited Quito, the capital of Ecuador. We spent New Year's Eve there. We also enjoyed the parks in Quito, with several playgrounds, and the Lagoon in the Parque El Alameda where we tried paddle boats

Highlights: We enjoyed the parks in Quito, especially the Parque El Ejido. Our children had plenty of space to run around and discover new things. The playground and the Lagoon in the Parque El Alameda were also fun ✨
