What to expect

Riobamba is a city located in the central highlands of the Andes Mountains in Ecuador. It is situated in the basin of the Riobamba River, just south of Chimborazo, Ecuador's highest peak. The city has a rich history, having been founded in 1534 by the Spanish and later rebuilt after an earthquake in 1797.
