What to expect
Gavnø Castle and Park is a great place for families to visit, offering a variety of activities and experiences. The castle has a rich history, having been established as a priory by Queen Margaret I for a community of Dominican nuns. Today, it features a beautiful park with a variety of plants and flowers, including tulips, and a klatrepark (climbing park) called Gavnø Go Fly, which offers entertainment and challenges for the whole family, including children as young as 3 years old. The castle also hosts various events throughout the year, including Denmark's largest Christmas market, and offers meeting facilities in historic settings. Visitors can also explore the castle's private chapel, which is one of Denmark's most colorful churches

Activities: We visited Gavnø Castle and Park and spent a relaxing morning there. The castle has architecture, furniture, and paintings from the 15th to 18th centuries. The kids enjoyed the numerous play stations and the large pirate playground in the park. We also visited the flower gardens, the rose labyrinth, a butterfly house and a small petting zoo
Highlights: The kids loved the large pirate playground in the park and the petting zoo with goats and butterflies, which was a highlight for our two-year-old daughter. The beautiful flower gardens and the rose labyrinth were also nice ✨
