What to expect

The Changing of the Guard is a ceremony that takes place at Amalienborg Palace, where the Royal Life Guard stands watch for the royal family. The guard is changed daily at 12:00 noon, and the ceremony includes a parade, music, and a flag march. The palace square is surrounded by four identical buildings, including Christian VII's Palace, Frederik VIII's Palace, Christian IX's Palace, and Christian VIII's Palace. Visitors can experience the changing of the guard and explore the palace and its surroundings. The area is also home to the Amalienborg Museum, which is located in Christian VIII's Palace
