Valečovské skalní byty

Rock formations Boseň, Středočeský kraj, Czech Republic

What to expect

Valečovské skalní byty are a unique complex of 28 rock-cut dwellings located near the Valečov Castle in Boseň, Czech Republic. The dwellings were originally used as homes for the castle's servants and later became the residence of local poor people, known as 'skaláci'. Each dwelling had wooden floors, glazed windows, and doors adapted to the rock. Some of the dwellings were used as stables for domestic animals
