Petřínská rozhledna

Observation tower Prague, Prague, Czech Republic

What to expect

Petřín Tower, also known as Petřínská rozhledna, is a 58.70-meter-tall steel-framework tower located on Petřín Hill in Prague, Czech Republic. The tower was built in 1891 as part of the Jubilee Exhibition and is often compared to the Eiffel Tower, although it has an octagonal cross-section and does not stand on four columns of lattice steel. The tower has two observation platforms accessible via 299 stairs and offers magnificent views of the city and surrounding landscape. Visitors can also find a gift shop, cafeteria, and exhibition area on the premises. The tower has undergone several reconstructions, including the installation of a television transmitter in 1953 and a new elevator for disabled and elderly people in 1999-2002
