Malé Svatoňovice is a municipality and village in Trutnov District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,600 inhabitants and is known as the birthplace of writer Karel Čapek. The village is located in the Broumov Highlands, in the microregion of Jestřebí hory, and its highest point is at 714 m above sea level. The village has a Baroque Church of Seven Joys of the Virgin Mary from 1734 and a museum dedicated to the Čapek brothers. The village is also home to several natural attractions, including the Jestřebí Mountains and the Rtyňská brázda
