Kolonáda

Monument Valtice, Jihomoravský kraj, Czech Republic

What to expect

Kolonáda Na Rajstně is a monumental monument located on a hill near Valtice, offering a great view of the entire Lednice-Valtice area. The colonnade was built in the early 19th century by Prince Jan I of Liechtenstein as a memorial to his deceased brothers and father. It features a Greek triumphal arch design with a viewing platform on the roof, providing a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, including Mikulov, Pálavské vrchy, and the Minaret in Lednice. The colonnade is a significant example of empírový triumfalismus in the country and is decorated with reliefs representing family virtues and a dedication to the prince's father and brothers
