What to expect

The Viñales Valley is a karstic depression in Cuba, located in the Sierra de los Órganos mountains. The valley has a unique landscape with dramatic rocky outcrops, known as mogotes, and is home to a rich multi-ethnic society. Traditional techniques are still used for agricultural production, particularly tobacco, and the valley is dotted with small farms and villages. The area is also home to many caves, including the Cueva del Indio, and features a variety of flora and fauna, including endemic species. The Mural of Prehistory, a contemporary work, is also located in the valley and depicts the evolution of life in the area.
