Labin is a town in Istria, Croatia, with a rich cultural and architectural heritage. The medieval town is situated on a hill above Rabac and features a number of art ateliers, coffee bars, and a bustling youth scene. The Sculpture Park in nearby Dubrova showcases over 70 stone sculptures. Labin is also the birthplace of Matthias Flacius Illyricus, a reformer and collaborator of Martin Luther. The town has a long history, with its old name of Albona first mentioned in 285 AD. Today, Labin is a cultural and administrative center, with a population of around 10,000 people
