Sera Monastery is one of the largest and oldest monasteries in Lhasa, located at the base of Pubuchok mountain on the Northern side of Lhasa. It is one of the six main Gelug monasteries of Tibet and is known for its debating courtyard where monks engage in lively debates. The monastery complex includes a printing house and three colleges, as well as a Great Assembly Hall with a large collection of scriptures and artwork. Visitors can explore the monastery's many chapels and colleges, and observe the monks' daily activities, including their debates and prayers. The monastery is also home to a number of precious relics and artifacts, including the famous Hayagriva chapel. For families with kids, the Sera Je college building is a must-visit, where kids can receive blessings from the monks
