The Fiordo di Ultima Esperanza, also known as the Última Esperanza Sound or Fiord, is a large body of water located in the Magallanes Region of Chilean Patagonia. It is situated between the continental coast to the east and the northeast coast of the Antonio Varas Peninsula to the west. The sound is approximately 19,000 square kilometers in size and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The city of Puerto Natales is located on the sound's southeastern coast and serves as a gateway to the nearby Torres del Paine and Bernardo O'Higgins National Parks. The area has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back over 6,000 years, and was first explored by European navigators in the 16th century. Today, the sound and surrounding area offer a range of activities for visitors, including hiking, horseback riding, and boat tours, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers
