The Toronto Entertainment District is an area in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, concentrated around King Street West between University Avenue and Spadina Avenue. It is home to theatres and performing arts centres, the Toronto Blue Jays, and an array of cultural and family attractions. The area was originally known as the Garment District and was almost wholly industrial in the first half of the 20th century. Today, it is a dynamic downtown neighbourhood filled with arts, food, drink, and spectacle, featuring numerous restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. The district is also home to the Royal Alexandra Theatre, the oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in North America
