Lang Pioneer Village Museum is a living history museum featuring over 30 restored and furnished historic buildings, many of which were donated from the surrounding townships. The buildings, constructed between 1820 and 1910, are interpreted by costumed villagers portraying authentic 19th-century pioneer life. Visitors can explore the village, engage with costumed interpreters, watch historic demonstrations, visit farm animals, and experience the sounds of history. The museum also features a working Grist Mill, a Shingle Mill, and a Cheese Factory, among other historic buildings. The village is situated on the shores of the historic Indian River and offers a unique glimpse into the history and culture of Peterborough County

Activities: We spent an extraordinary day at the Lang Pioneer Village Museum. The museum brings the history of Peterborough County to life with costumed interpreters in over 30 buildings. The children loved watching the grain mill and questioning the blacksmith
Highlights: The children adored observing the grain mill dating back to 1846. I enjoyed chatting with the interpreters who were preparing breakfast for the participants in the old-fashioned way ✨
