What to expect

The Valley of the Five Lakes is a popular family hike located south of Jasper. The trail is a 4.6 km loop with a moderate difficulty level and an elevation gain of 66 m. The hike features five small lakes, each with a different depth and hue of blue green, as well as a forest of lodge pole pine and a flowery meadow. The trail also offers a boardwalk across the Wabasso Creek wetlands, where beavers can be spotted. The area is also home to nesting loons and offers a fine view from the last ridge across the Athabasca Valley to Mt. Edith Cavell and the reddish quartzite peaks north of it
