Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake located in the eastern area of Banff National Park in Canada. The lake is 21 km long and 142 m deep, making it the 2nd longest lake in the mountain parks of the Canadian Rockies. The lake is fed by the Cascade River and is home to a variety of wildlife, including elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, and bears. Visitors can enjoy hiking, picnicking, and being on or by the water, as well as cross-country skiing, winter walking, or snowshoeing in the winter. The lake has a rich human and natural history, with archaeological sites and artifacts dating back 14,000 years. A hiking and mountain biking trail runs along the northern shore of the lake, passing Stewart Canyon and six backcountry campsites
