Moraine Lake is a stunning turquoise gem located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 1,884 metres. The lake has a surface area of 50 hectares and is fed almost completely by snow-melt and glacial-melt, which gives it a distinctive shade of azure blue. The area around the lake has several walking and hiking trails, including the Rockpile Trail, which offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The trail is approximately 300 metres long and has an elevation change of 24 metres. Visitors can also take a short hike up the rockpile for the classic Moraine Lake vista. The lake is a popular destination for hiking, skiing, and site-seeing, and is considered one of the most photographed locations in Canada
