Cave and Basin National Historic Site is a hot spring located in Banff National Park. The site was developed for public use with a nearby swimming pool and bath-house and is now operated as a historic site open to the public. It is the birthplace of Canada's national parks and has been a special place for Indigenous Peoples for over ten thousand years. Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits, short films, seasonal activities, and stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. The site features a cave, a basin, and natural springs, as well as vestiges of the log shanty built next to the vent hole between 1883 and 1885
