What to expect

Athabasca Falls is a 23-metre waterfall located in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. The falls are one of the most powerful in the Canadian Rockies, with a large volume of water flowing over a wide ledge into a tight canyon. The waterfall and its gorge can be admired from several fenced viewpoints along a short paved trail, including a footbridge that crosses over the canyon. Visitors can also explore the Athabasca River at the lower end of the canyon, where the trail descends a series of steps. The falls have cut into the limestone of the basin, creating features like potholes and a short canyon. It's essential to stay behind the protective barriers and not approach the canyon or river's edge, as there have been fatalities. The area is suitable for families, with easy access to the falls and scenic views
