Angkor Wat is a vast temple complex in Cambodia, considered one of the greatest cultural wonders of the world. The complex, which covers over 400 acres, was built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II and is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It features five central towers that symbolize the peaks of Mount Meru, a mountain in Hindu mythology. The temple walls are adorned with intricate bas-relief sculptures depicting Hindu gods and ancient Khmer scenes. Angkor Wat was later transformed into a Buddhist temple and is now a major pilgrimage site and popular tourist attraction. The complex is surrounded by a large moat and features several galleries and towers, making it an impressive and awe-inspiring sight to behold.
