National Military History Museum

The National Museum of Military History has preserved over a million cultural goods, witnesses of the Bulgarian and European military history. It is the only museum in Bulgaria which presents three expositions, displaying about 28 thousand items. Significant battles of the Bulgarian history, ideas and heroes of the Bulgarian national-liberation struggle, 130-years-long history of the Bulgarian Army, accentuating on the wars it had waged, are presented in the chronological-thematic exposition. The richest state collections of weapons, military uniforms and decorations attract the audience to the collection halls. More than 270 cultural goods situated in the outdoor exposition are presented by models of artillery armaments, armor vehicles, engineer property, aircrafts, naval armaments and missiles of the Bulgarian Army. The National Museum of Military History presents also Children's Museum which is designed for children from 3 to 12 years old. The museum offers various accommodations to facilitate access of persons with disabilities: an access ramp, elevator, adapted restrooms.
