The Plaza 25 de Mayo, also known as Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Armas, is a historic plaza located in the center of Sucre, Bolivia. It was declared a Cultural and Historical Heritage of Bolivia in 2014. The plaza features monuments to the libertators Simón Bolívar, Antonio José de Sucre, and Bernardo de Monteagudo, and is surrounded by important buildings such as the Casa de la Libertad, the Catedral Metropolitana, and the Alcaldía Municipal and Gobernación. The plaza has a charming atmosphere, with a design that includes diagonal and circular walkways, a kiosco, and fountains. In the past, the plaza was a popular spot for socializing, where men and women would walk in opposite directions and greet each other with a bow. Today, it remains a significant landmark and a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, culture, and architecture
