The Tiger's Nest, also known as Paro Taktsang, is a sacred Vajrayana Himalayan Buddhist site located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan. It is one of thirteen Tiger's Nest caves in historical Tibet where Padmasambhava practiced and taught Vajrayana. The monastery was built around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave, where Guru Padmasambhava meditated and practiced with students. The site is located 2,950m above sea level and takes about 2 to 3 hours to climb from the base. The monastery has four temples surrounding the main temple, with white-washed walls and gold-painted roofs. A prayer wheel is located in the courtyard, and the interior of the temples is decorated with fine details reflecting the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition
