The Jardins Suspendus, or Hanging Gardens, are a unique and beautiful attraction in Thuin, Belgium. Located on the southern slope of the Biesmelle valley, these gardens are a series of terraced plots that have been cultivated by the locals for centuries. The gardens are part of the medieval city's fortifications and offer a rare landscape, enriched with a contemporary art trail. With around 200 terraced gardens to discover, visitors can take a stroll through the narrow streets and admire the local sandstone walls, absorb and reverberate the sun's heat. The gardens also feature a vineyard, which produces a delicious sweet natural wine called Le Close des Zouaves. The site is perfect for a family walk, with a trail that takes around 1-1.5 hours to complete, and features 11 explanatory panels that explain the history of Thuin and the gardens. Pets are allowed, and the site is accessible for families with children
