Antwerpen-Centraal railway station is the main railway station in Antwerp, Belgium. It is one of the most important hubs in the country and is one of the four Belgian stations on the high-speed rail network. The current building, designed by the architect Louis Delacenserie, was constructed between 1895 and 1905. The station has a notable stone-clad building and a viaduct designed by local architect Jan Van Asperen. The station was restored in the mid-20th century after suffering damage during World War II, and it has been expanded to accommodate high-speed trains. The station has 14 tracks and 8 platforms, with a large public square, known as the Koningin Astridplein, acting as an entry to the city for its many commuters

Activities: We went to the main train station, which is a first-class sight! The entrance portal is full of marble and stucco. The hall is a pretty piece of early steel construction. We also looked at the mosaics
Highlights: The architecture was really impressive. We were amazed by the marble and stucco. 'Man fragt sich echt, ob man falsch abgebogen und in einer Kathedrale gelandet ist' (You really wonder if you've taken a wrong turn and landed in a cathedral) ✨
