Place du Luxembourg, also known as Place Lux, is a square in the European Quarter of Brussels, Belgium. It is a popular after-work spot for collaborators, assistants, parliamentarians, and lobbyists who work in and around the European Quarter. The square is especially colorful at the end of the day and in the evening, particularly on Thursdays, when the terraces and cafes are taken over by the active, multilingual European youth. The district's cosmopolitan nature is evident, and various European gastronomies can be enjoyed in and around the square, including Italian, Polish, and Luxembourgish restaurants. The square is also home to the Monument to John Cockerill and is flanked by the European Parliament and other main European Institutions in the city
