The Manneken-Pis is a bronze statuette located in Brussels, Belgium. It was originally a simple decoration adorning one of the many fountains that supplied the city with water in the Middle Ages. The famous little boy relieving himself was created by Jérôme Duquesnoy l'Ancien in 1619. Over time, the statue has become a legendary figure, taking on symbolic roles as a protector of the city and spokesman for the people of Brussels. The statue has a wardrobe of over 1,000 pieces, which can be admired at the GardeRobe MannekenPis museum. The original statuette is now safely housed in the Brussels City Museum due to numerous acts of vandalism
