The Atomium is a landmark modernist building that stands 102 metres tall, making it one of the tallest structures in Belgium. Its nine 18-metre-diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected in the shape of a unit cell that could represent an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. The building offers a panoramic view of Brussels from its top sphere, which includes a restaurant. It is a museum, an art centre and a cultural destination, with exhibit halls and other public spaces. The Atomium is a symbol of Brussels and Belgium, and it is the city's most popular tourist attraction

Activities: We visited Atomium. We went right at opening time, which saved some time with the queues. We went into a lift to the first level. The temporary exhibit was made up of different areas of light and sound. We also went to the viewing platform where we could see panoramic views of Brussels
Highlights: We really enjoyed the visit. The temporary exhibition was by far the best thing for us and we could have stayed in those spheres for ages. Erin, who is close to 7, was interested in what there was to see. The viewing platform is fantastic ✨
