What to expect
The Alpenzoo Innsbruck is a unique zoo located in the city of Innsbruck, in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is one of the highest elevation zoos in Europe and is home to around 2000 animals from 150 species, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. The zoo is situated on the slope of a mountain and features many footpaths to explore and observe the animals. Some of the main attractions include the big Alpine animals such as bears, wolves, and moose, as well as birds of prey like the northern bald ibis. The zoo also has a show farm with many species of livestock, a large freshwater aquarium, and several terrariums for reptiles and amphibians. With its educational department offering experimental teaching with animals, the Alpenzoo is a great place to visit with family and friends
