The Affenberg Landskron, also known as the Monkey Mountain, is a unique outdoor experience where visitors can observe around 180 Japanese macaques in a 4.5-hectare enclosure. The monkeys live in semi-free conditions, without cages, and visitors can watch them play, climb, and interact with each other. Guided tours are available, and visitors can learn about the fascinating facts and behavior of these incredible animals. The highlight of the visit is the possibility of witnessing swimming and diving monkeys. The place is suitable for families, but it's recommended to leave strollers behind and dress appropriately for the weather. Baby carriers and umbrellas are available to borrow. The monkeys have retreat areas that are not visible to visitors, ensuring they can decide whether to join the tours or focus on other activities

Activities: We had a 75-minute private tour where our guide Julia explained everything about the Japanese macaques. We even got to feed some of the 165 monkeys. We also enjoyed the playground and other amenities before the tour
Highlights: It was wonderful to see how well the monkeys were cared for in their huge and well-maintained area. The kids loved feeding the monkeys and learning their names! ✨
