What to expect

Nature's Window is one of Western Australia's most iconic natural attractions, formed from layers of Tumblagooda Sandstone. It is located in Kalbarri National Park and is accessed via an easy 1km return walk. The natural rock formation perfectly frames the rugged upstream view of the Murchison River. The area has excellent lookouts, shaded seating areas, and walk trails, including the challenging Loop Trail, which is 9km long and takes around 3-5 hours to complete. The geology of the area is fascinating, with thinly bedded, red and white banded rocks and fossilised burrows left by ancient worms. Visitors should be careful near edges and avoid climbing on the fragile rock. It is recommended to plan hikes for the cooler months and to carry plenty of water, wear a hat, loose clothing, and sturdy footwear
