Mammoth Cave

Cave Boranup, Western Australia, Australia

What to expect

Mammoth Cave is a unique window into the past, with over 10,000 fossils that once accumulated inside the cave. Many of these fossils are remains of Australian Megafauna, giant animals that became extinct around 46,000 years ago. A visit to Mammoth Cave finishes with a winding walk through a beautiful marri forest, lined with flourishing green foliage, towering trees, and wildflowers during winter and spring. The cave is 500 m long and 30 m deep, and features a 50,000-year-old 'zygomaturus' jawbone embedded in the cave wall. Self-guided audio tours are available in multiple languages, allowing visitors to explore the majestic chambers at their own pace
