The Brig Amity is a replica of the original ship that brought the first European settlers to Western Australia in 1826. Visitors can walk up the gangplank and explore the ship to learn about life on board a convict ship. The ship is staffed by volunteer guides who can answer questions and provide information about the ship's history and the settlement of Albany. The Brig Amity is part of the Museum of the Great Southern site and offers a unique insight into the region's colonial history. Families can imagine what it would have been like for the 50 men, stores, sheep, and pigs that shared the small vessel on its difficult six-week journey from Sydney
