What to expect

The Paddle Steamer Melbourne is a celebrated piece of Murray River heritage, constructed in 1912 and launched in 1913. It has a rich history, having been used as a public works boat, a picnic and excursion vessel, and now as a passenger steamer. The Melbourne is 98 feet long, 21 feet wide, and can carry 300 passengers. It is equipped with a twin-cylinder compound steam engine and has a cruising speed of 11 miles per hour.
