What to expect

Mariner's Lookout is a scenic spot with a large grassy coastal hill range, offering good views, thermals, and the option of cross-country flights along the coast to the east. The lookout area provides a great spot to set up and launch, with a curved face allowing for a SE to SW arc of possible launching direction options. The trail to the lookout is a short 0.8-km out-and-back route, generally considered easy, and takes around 12 minutes to complete. The area is popular for hiking and walking, with abundant wildlife and beautiful views of the ocean and Apollo Bay. Visitors can enjoy soaking up the views and spotting local wildlife, including birds and koalas
