Low Head Penguin Tours offer a unique nature experience to get up close and personal with the Little Blue Penguins as they return from the pristine waters of Bass Strait to nest in their burrows. The tours are fully guided and take up to 1 hour, with a gentle three-minute walk to the viewing platform overlooking the beach. Visitors can see the penguins standing just 30cm high, returning to their burrows in the Box Thorn bush. The number of penguins varies depending on the season, with 100 to 200 penguins coming ashore each night between November and February, and 10 to 100 penguins between March and October. The area also features a maritime museum, lighthouse, and a rustic seafood shack diner, making it a great destination for families and couples
