Fitzroy Island is a continental island located 29 km southeast of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. The island has a total area of 11.6 square kilometers and is surrounded by a reef system that forms part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Nearly all of the island is protected within the Fitzroy Island National Park, which features four walking tracks to various parts of the island. The island has a tropical monsoon climate and is home to a variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling, diving, and swimming in the island's coral gardens, as well as exploring the island's walking trails and visiting the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.
