The Queensland Museum Kurilpa is the state museum of Queensland, funded by the government, and dedicated to natural history, cultural heritage, science and human achievement. The museum is home to over 1,000,000 objects and specimens, and it attracts over 2,000,000 visitors each year. It is located in the Queensland Cultural Centre at South Bank, alongside the Queensland Art Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The museum offers various exhibitions, including travelling shows from around the world and exhibitions that reveal the story of Queensland's prehistoric past, its Aboriginal Peoples and Torres Strait Islanders, and its unique biodiversity. The museum is also a research facility in the fields of biodiversity, geoscience, and cultural history, and it features SparkLab, which offers hands-on, interactive activities for kids and adults.
