The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is an 18-hectare koala sanctuary located in the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree Pocket in Queensland, Australia. It is the oldest and largest koala sanctuary of its kind in the world, founded in 1927 to provide a safe refuge to sick, injured, and orphaned koalas. The sanctuary is home to approximately 80 species of Australian animals, including koalas, kangaroos, wombats, platypus, and various bird species. Visitors can get close to the koalas, feed and pet the free-roaming kangaroos, and participate in a bird of prey show. The sanctuary also features a koala science and research facility, the Brisbane Koala Science Institute, which is open to visitors. The sanctuary offers a family-friendly environment where visitors can interact with and learn about Australian wildlife in a natural setting
