What to expect

The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium is a great place for families to explore and learn about astronomy. It features the Cosmic Skydome, a 12.5-metre-diameter projection dome, where visitors can enjoy entertaining and informative shows. The Planetarium also includes an observatory, Galaxy Gift Shop, and Sundial Courtyard. Visitors can tour the Display Zone, which includes extensive space exploration and astronomy displays, meteorites, and models of spacecraft and rockets. A mini-theatre usually features a regularly updated Space Telescope Science Institute web feed. The Planetarium runs regular shows for public and school groups, and observing sessions in the observatory. A major exhibit, Skylore: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Astronomy, shares the star knowledge of Australia's leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders
