What to expect

Kings Canyon, also known as Watarrka, is a canyon in the Northern Territory of Australia. It features 300m high sandstone walls, palm-filled crevices, and views that stretch across the desert. The canyon has several walking trails, including the 6-kilometre Kings Canyon Rim Walk and the 2.6-kilometre Kings Creek Walk. Visitors can also explore the Garden of Eden, a permanent waterhole surrounded by plant life, and the Lost City, a distinctive rock formation. The canyon is home to many plants and animals, including the MacDonnell Ranges Cycad and over 80 species of birds. The area has significant cultural importance for the local Aboriginal people, with many sacred sites and Dreaming stories associated with the canyon
