What to expect

Ubirr is a rock formation within the East Alligator region of Kakadu National Park, known for its rock art. The site consists of a group of rock outcrops on the edge of the Nadab floodplain, featuring several natural shelters with a collection of Aboriginal rock paintings, some of which are thousands of years old. The art depicts creation ancestors, animals, and interactions with non-Aboriginal people. Visitors can view the galleries by following an easy 1km circular walking track and climb to a rocky outlook with views across the floodplains. The site is home to the Rainbow Serpent and other significant Aboriginal artworks, making it a great place to learn about the region's history and culture
