What to expect

The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) is the main museum in the Northern Territory, located in the inner Darwin suburb of The Gardens. The museum features a collection of over 30,000 items of art and material culture, including the body of Sweetheart, a crocodile notorious for attacking boats. MAGNT presents a dynamic program of internally-developed exhibitions and travelling exhibitions from around Australia, and is home to the annual Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award. The museum also runs public programs, including talks, workshops, and drop-in kids' activities, and has a cafe and retail shop. The museum is family-friendly, with facilities including a parents' room, picnic area, and interactive centre. The museum is accessible for people with mobility aids and wheelchairs
