Silver Beach is a 2.8 km long west-trending sand spit in Kurnell, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The beach is characterised by silver-coloured sands and fourteen rockwall groynes which project into Botany Bay. It is a significant historical site, as it is where Captain James Cook first set foot on Australian soil in 1770. The beach has a netted swimming area and a dog off-leash area. There are also several eateries nearby, including Cook At Kurnell, The General Store, The Milkhouse, and 1770 Bakery and Cafe
