What to expect

Grotto Point Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on a rocky headland near Dobroyd Head, on the northern shores of Sydney Harbour. The lighthouse offers scenic views, birdwatching, and walking options in Sydney Harbour National Park. It is an active beacon that lights the way across the northern waters of the harbour. The lighthouse is sometimes referred to as the 'Disney Castle' due to its distinct features, which were designed in 1910. Visitors can access the lighthouse via a short track off Manly Scenic Walkway and enjoy the views out to the Tasman Sea, while keeping an eye out for cormorants and white-breasted sea eagles. The surrounding area is also home to a stand of smooth pink-barked angophoras, which shed their bark in spring to reveal a new orange layer
