What to expect

The Burrawang walk is a short, wheelchair-accessible stroll that tells the story of the encounter between Aboriginal Australian and European culture. The walk takes you past several historic sites, including the freshwater stream, the meeting place, Sir Joseph Banks' Memorial, the Ferry Shelter Shed, and Captain Cook's landing place. Three large bronze sculptures of significance to the Gweagal Aboriginal People were installed along the walk to acknowledge the 250th anniversary of the encounter between Aboriginal Australians and the crew of the HMB Endeavour in 1770. The walk is a great place to visit with family and learn about the area's cultural and natural history
