Port Stephens is a large natural harbour located in the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions of New South Wales, Australia. It is an open youthful tide-dominated drowned-valley estuary with a surface area of approximately 134 square kilometres. The harbour is mostly shallow and sandy but contains sufficient deep water to accommodate large vessels. Port Stephens is larger than Sydney Harbour and extends approximately 24 km inland from the Tasman Sea. The area is known for its beautiful beaches, stunning sand dunes, coastal walks, national parks, and pristine waters.
