The Parkes Aviation Museum is located at the end of Muzycuk Drive at Parkes Airport, in a former RAAF hangar from the airport's time as a World War II air force base. The museum showcases a diverse collection of aircraft, including the Bell AH-1 Huey Cobra, De Havilland DHC-4 Caribou, De Havilland DH.114 Heron, Convair 580, and the Douglas Dakota. The museum collaborates with Parkes High School students who contribute by preparing and painting aircraft for display. Parkes has a long history in aviation, with the first aircraft landing in 1919, and the airport becoming RAAF Base Parkes during World War II. The museum exhibits a range of aircraft and is being developed by local and HARS volunteers
